I feel that the HERO sensor in G305 is better than the Viper Mini. As well, lifting off and lifting down the sensor isn't as jittery for some reason. I will probably use a AAA battery and adapter on the G305 to reduce the weight. I have one and it's a fine mouse, especially considering the price. G305 just feels way smoother.
